Don't use Jawbone up2, it breaks very easily.

i had mine for less than 2 months and something inside short-circuted and kept on losing battery power can can't charge properly.  If you need more convencing, keep searching.

Granted, it looks nice.

If you use fountain pen, avoid Moleskine all tgether.

You might got attracted by the covers, the nice packages, and the nice shops (or whatever name they call it), ultimately it's just a notebook with a rubber band.  Forget whom ever had used it before, YOU are using it right now, and Moleskine these days got so common and so fancy it had became a standard, so no, holding a Moleskine into a meeting won't make you look smart.

What would make you look stupid though, is when you put a fountain pen to your Moleskine.  Everytime your pen writes anything larger than a hair thin line on the page you can be sure that you can see your writing on the back of that page.  And if you got a particular juicy fountain pen, you'd get nice little dots on the page under it.  If that ever happens, it means that you could actually only write on one side of the page, effectively cutting the economic value of your already over priced notebook.

So if you use fountain pen, get a Rhodia.

And if you are looking for samples or image of how bad Moleskine pages handles fountain pen, just hit google image, and if you need so much convincing, tell yourself that you fell victim of very clever marketing effort by Moleskine.

You cannot get Hobonichi from any Hong Kong (or HK) retail shop now (2016).

yes a lot of people are very excited with the new Hobonichi 2017 line up and you got a lot of people searching for one in Hong Kong, and no, you won't get one here from retail.  The best chance you would get from retail anywhere near Hong Kong is Taiwan, and even there you won't see anything popping up until mid September.

So just sit back and relax and go to it's official website fora good look, or their ever updating Facebook page and admire the line up in 2D.

By the way, Hobonichi is a fountain pen friendly (and light watercolor too) daily journal, some people use it as a planner too.  Best feature about it is the VERY very large collection of covers, expensive covers, that it could fit in.

in case you are tossing between Midori and Hobonichi:

- if you want something to sit at home and wait for you to write or, get Hobonichi.  If you stuff too many stuff into it the cover won't close properly as the pen loop won't line up.

- if you want something to travel around with you, get Midori, cause chances are you will stuff a lot of tiny bits of paper into it and the rubber band could held it together nicely. (or get plastic zip lock insert, of course).

- yes there is 'travellers' cover designed for use with Hobonichi, good luck trying to lay it flat on the table and start writing. It won't work, it's like trying to change a hamburger  into a sandwich, don't get greedy!

Rhodia staple-bound 3x4.7 fitted into a Midori passport size traveler's journal look silly.

Just want to put it out there, as topic, the Rhodia tiny notebook is about 1cm short of the Midori passport size note book, making it looks more like an Address book rather than a decent insert, or it looks like wearing an over sized jacket.

So don't do it.

New Year event! ゴールドラッシュ [#千年戦争アイギス] (Updated)

A winter based event with snowy fields and snowmen as enemy, the x'ams lady unit could really come in handy here but too bad I haven't level her up yet.  It seems only the first mission Snow Fight Admist a Blizzard (猛吹雪の雪合戦) is issued so we might need to wait a while for the whole series to be issued.

This is my first play through so I didn't know that it's limited to ranged units only, but it's fun.

The new year event is a very clever arrangement on their part really, they push out a stage every day, so players need to come back to the game for everything.  Here's the game play video of the second stage 二人の番人 (the two guards)

This time around I got something really nice, she would have been very useful for me if she comes a lot earlier, after I got the other two shielding units and got one to cc, i don't need her too much.

Game play video of the 3rd installment of the new year event - ゴールドラッシュ - 魔界アリの巣穴.  They pushed out fireball throwing ants mid stage and it's always tough for me cause  I don't have many unit that have high defense against magic.

Golems are almost the toughest unit in the game, this one isn't my best play but it was fun killing them.  It got easier for me because I powered up my units with gems...

This is also my first playthrough with a stage that is limited to melee units only, not as tough as i thought and I got lucky and got the special unit on my second play...

砲科学校の再訓練,
ゴールドラッシュ

炎獄の四天王,
ゴールドラッシュ

That was the first play through of the second last installment of the new year event.  Every foe there is easy for my team except the last boss, which thankfully the game consider it as being defeated as long as we damage him enough.  Any lucky for me, after getting the 3 stars I got the special unit as well (on my 3rd play).

Another event! Game play video 死者の王の娘 [千年戦争アイギス]

Let's see how fast I can beat this and upload the videos here...

Basically this series of quests give you the Necromancer MeMenTo, for 150 yellow crystal gives you one, and then on, 100 yellow crystal gives you another.

死霊魔術師メメントNecromancer Memento

Haven't seen her in action but it would be fun with her special ability in bringing in skeleton units.

I had finished the first three missions, as with all retro (復刻) missions these are easier than the new missions: the new missions often comes with more environmental factors such as the blizzard and the enemy units could disable my units with paralysis.  However these retro missions often involve a lot of farming...

The fun part so far, is looking at メメント walking around with a few skeleton around her, easily disposed of though... so far...
